About hometown and family
Of all the places in the Philippines, I guess Davao City is not so familiar for Japanese students. Manila is known because it is the capital of the Philippines. Cebu Island is famous for their tropical white sand beaches. With that, I want to introduce to you my hometown. Davao City became the most livable city in the Philippines last 2008. Like Cebu Island, we have beautiful white sand beaches and we are the home of the tallest mountain in the Philippines, Mount Apo. We are also the home of the king of all fruits, Durian and the famous flower, Waling-waling. Aside from the white sand beaches, Davao is rich with tropical fruits like bananas, pineapples and papayas. Davao has no direct flight to Japan that's why it is not accessible for some tourists. Nonetheless, it is safe to go here. I was born in Davao City Philippines in 1987. I have 3 siblings and all of us already finished university. We are all raised in Davao City by our parents.
マニラはフィリピンの首都として良く知られており、セブ島はビーチや綺麗な南国として知られているかと思いますが、私の故郷であるダバオは、フィリピンの地域の中でも日本の方々にはあまり馴染みのない場所かと思います。
ダバオはセブ島と同じように、美しいビーチ、またアポ山というフィリピンで一番高い山がある場所として知られています。また様々な果物やドリアン、そしてワリンワリンという名の有名な花が見れる所としても知られています。
美しいビーチの他に、バナナやパイナップル、パパヤなどの南国の果物が豊富な場所です。ダバオから日本への直行便の飛行機がないので、日本の観光客の方にはあまり知られていないかと思います。治安もとても良い場所です。私は１９８７年にダバオに生まれました。３人の姉妹がおり、皆大学を卒業しました。私たちは３人ともダバオで両親に育てられました。

They say, the best way to learn a language is to live where it is spoken. But with the technology nowadays, no need for us to go somewhere and live there. English is more than a subject. It is a tie that connects people of different cultures. Express your emotions. Never be afraid. Don't be shy. The things we do best in life are the things we enjoy doing. If you aren't having fun learning English, then you're not studying the right way! Let us learn English in the most effective way. I am looking forward to seeing you soon!
「言語を学びたければ、その言語が話される国に住め」とよく耳にするかと思いますが、現在のテクノロジーのお陰で、わざわざ外国に行かなくても英語が学べるようになりました。英語は単なる教科や科目ではないと思います。英語は異なった文化を持つ人々を結びつける物です。決して恐れず、あなたの思いを表現してください。それが正しい勉強の方法です。もっとも効率的な方法で英語を勉強しましょう。お会いするのを楽しみにしています。
Favorite TV program and its contents
Bizarre Foods. I love the TV program Bizarre Foods because it is about the different culture of other countries that we can experience by tasting their foods. Each food represents another country's culture which is best to experience if we can communicate with them smoothly.
“Bizarre Foods”という番組が好きです。他国の食文化を通して、その国の文化が体験できるからです。それぞれの料理や食べ物が、その国の文化を象徴しています。
Goals and dreams as an English teacher
Being a teacher is what I always wanted to be. Even when I was a kid, I used to take the teacher's role when I play with my playmates. My goal as an English teacher is to make sure that at the end of every class, my student would learn something from me. It is rewarding to see my student develop their skills in English through my help.
講師になる事は、いつも望んでいました。子供の時から、友達と遊ぶ時は先生の役を演じたりしていました。私の講師としての目標は、毎回のレッスンが終わった時必ず生徒に何かを学んだと感じてもらうことです。
私のレッスンを通して生徒さんの英語が上達することは、私にとって最高のご褒美です。
About Japanese and Japan
I have been teaching English to Japanese people for almost 3 years. With that, I can say that I have come to know and experience Japan through the eyes of my students. Japan, as I know is a country with rich culture. From the white world of Hokkaido to the tropical white sand beaches of Okinawa, I can say that Japan is a package! What I admire most about Japanese people is that they are very polite. From the greeting ohayou gozaimasu to the bowing of their heads, it is very striking for me. I also admire their great respect for the elderly people. Without our grandparents, we wouldn't be here so I salute the Japanese people for that. Japan as a whole, is a very good country and the Japanese citizens are disciplined and modest people.
私は日本の方に英語を教え始めて３年になります。そのため生徒さんとの交流を通して、日本について沢山の事を学びました。日本は豊かな文化を持つ国です。銀世界の北海道からビーチの美しい沖縄まで、日本は色々な特徴が１つに凝縮されています。日本の人々に関して私が感心する事は、礼儀正しいということです。「おはようございます」の挨拶から、頭を下げるお辞儀まで、私にとってとても素晴らしいものです。また年配の方への礼儀や尊敬の姿勢にも感心します。祖父母がいなければもちらん私たちは存在しないわけですから、この日本人の姿勢は敬意に値します。
ひっくるめて言うと、日本はとても良い国で、そこに住む人は規律正しく謙虚な人々だと思います。
