About hometown and family
I came from Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte. I grew up in a hometown full of good and memorable memories. My place is in the countryside. It’s only composed of 11 villages, yet the place is abundant of harmonious relationship. The people are very hospitable, kind and close to each other. Almost every month, our place conducts traditional activities which make the bonding stronger than ever. It is a peaceful community and the way of life is laidback. In addition, my hometown has a wonderful beach in which many tourists spend their vacation most of the time, especially during summer. My hometown is such a good place to unwind and savour the beauty of nature. On the other hand, I grew up in a God-centered and loving family. My family is composed of 4 members. I have 1 sister who is 8 years younger than me. My parents are both hardworking. My father used to work as a seaman, way back 1980’s. When my mother gave birth to me, he quit his job for good and joined the politics for 12 years. Afterwards, he decided to be self employed. He is a family-oriented man. His family is his main priority. With regards to my mother, she works as a Medical Technologist in the hospital. She is a thoughtful and a sweet mom. She never lets a day to pass by without talking to me and to my sister over the phone. She always wants to know if we are both in good condition. I consider my family as the greatest gift, God has given me. They are the ultimate treasures in my life.
私はレイテ南部のパドレ･バーゴスという町で生まれ育ちました。沢山の良い思い出で溢れています。私の町は田舎町で、１１の集落から構成されています。お互いとても良い関係を保っています。町に住む人々はとても良心的で、親切で、お互いに親密です。毎月伝統的な催し物を行なっており、それは結束力をより強めました。とても平和なコミュニティーで、人はゆっくりとした生活を送っています。さらに、私の町にはとても美しいビーチがあり、夏になると多くの旅行者が訪れます。私の故郷は自然の美しさを堪能し、ゆっくりとくつろぐには最高の場所です。
私は信心深い家族に生まれました。私の家族は4人で、両親と、8歳年下の妹がいます。両親は共に勤勉な人です。私の父は80年代に船員として働いていましたが、私が生まれたのをキッカケに仕事を辞め、その後12年間政治の世界で働きました。現在は、自営業を営んでいます。私の父は家族第一の人間です。私の母は病院で医療技術者として働いています。とてもやさしく、思いやりのある母です。家から離れている時でも、必ず私と私の妹に電話をして、会話をする事を忘れません。私たちが元気にやっているか、いつも気をかけてくれます。私にとって家族は、神様からの最高の贈り物です。人生で一番の宝物です。
Comments to students
I have been experiencing being a teacher for more than 2 years. I used to be a trainer for Health Care students for a six-month program offered by our government. Later on, I started working as an offline ESL teacher sometime around 2011. I used to work with Koreans, and I was assigned to Middle School students. The winter camp lasted for almost 2 months and by the time it ended, I applied to ABC Academy. Well, for my Japanese students, I’m looking forward for a productive working relationship with you. It’s really an honor to work with you. I hope that we could get along with each other well, and would be learning a lot about English technicalities. Let’s make English our passion. My teaching would be of no sense without your full participation.
講師としての経験は2年になります。私はフィリピン政府が主催する6ヶ月間の健康管理実習プログラムで、トレーナーとして働いていました。その後、冬季集中英語講座の英語講師として、韓国の中学生に焼く2ヶ月間英語を教えていました。ABCアカデミーでは、生徒さんとの生産的で有意義なレッスンができるよう勤めていきたいです。日本の生徒さんに英語を教える事を光栄に思います。英語に情熱を注ぎましょう。私も全力で英会話レッスンを提供します。
Favorite TV program and its contents
I really don’t have a favorite TV program in particular, but I like watching a variety of TV entertainments. I like news about current events, reality shows, talk shows, game shows, TV dramas, and also comedies to balance my mood. All in all, I like TV programs with sensible contents.
特に好きなテレビ番組はありませんが、色々な番組を満遍なく見ます。ニュースや、リアリティーショー、トーク番組、ドラマ、コメディーなど、自分の気分によって見る番組が異なります。
Goals and dreams as an English teacher
I’m a nurse by profession, but my passion is more on teaching. However, it doesn’t mean that I don’t like my profession any less. Teaching is a part of the nursing profession. In fact, I’m currently taking my masters in nursing to fulfill my dream as a nurse educator someday. Being an English teacher is a great privilege to me. It opens the way to expand my knowledge and potential in the different field. I will never stop learning the language until I achieve mastery and perfection.
大学時代の専攻分野は看護学ですが、英語を教える事が大好きです。もちろん看護学が嫌いな訳ではありません。教える事は、看護学に通ずる物があります。また現在、大学院で看護学校の講師となる勉強もしています。英語講師の仕事は私の知識や可能性を広げてくれました。これからも学ぶ姿勢を忘れず、自分自身の英語力、講師としての能力を磨いていきたいです。
About Japanese and Japan
This is my first time to work with Japanese people. Working with fellow Asian nationals is an overwhelming duty, and at the same time a challenging one. It motivates me to work more with passion knowing that my clients are not of the same culture as mine. I don’t exactly know about Japan and its people, but I heard some feedback from my co-teachers, especially from those who have experienced working in Japan that Japanese are respectful individuals. Furthermore, I learned in the geographic channel that Japan has lots of wonderful places to offer.
日本の方に英語を教えるのは今回が初めてです。アジアの近所の国の人々と関われることは、とても嬉しいことです。生徒さんの文化の違いを理解したい、という思いがおのずと強くなります。日本について私はあまり詳しくありませんが、同僚の先生はや、日本に住んでいた経験のある友人は、日本人はとても礼儀正しい人だと言います。またテレビ番組で、日本には美しい場所が沢山ある事も知りました。
